Too busy gardening to post before….

In January I was gardening for the first tine ever! February was colder with some snow, and in March I was travelling for several weeks. In April the biggest improvements were the completion of two raised beds for my veggie garden and a new greenhouse! Very exciting! I started lots of seeds, as well as potted dahlias and gladioli bulbs in my greenhouse. The mice dug up some of my seeds and seedlings,so I had to reseed my nasturtiums and sunflowers multiple times, as well as covering everything every night. It was a slow month for me in April, as I got covid while travelling to Toronto and Ottawa in March, and it took a long time for me to get back my energy and start to feel normal again. Then there was a mad rush to get the raised beds set up with the water wicking ststem and filled with soil in time for planting. After filling one - many loads of topsoil, I decided to leave the second one for a later planting. Then fellow gardener Ken kindly offered to fill it and so I was able to plant in both. I planted snow peas and snap peas, scarlet runner beans, beans, lettuce, carrots, beets, squash, parsnips, and herbs. I started a native plant garden, and added lots of new perennial flowers, several rhodendrums and some perennial fuchias to my gardens.
